Shanan Basra

With a degree in Psychology and a professional background working in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools, I have always been passionate about improving access to trusted mental health support and promoting wellbeing through education.

As Operations & Communications Lead at MindFriend, I oversee the day-to-day operation of the platform, helping to ensure that every aspect of the marketplace runs smoothly for both clinicians and users. From clinician onboarding and verification to platform management and strategic communications, I work across the business to support the delivery of a safe, accessible and user-focused experience.

A key part of my role is overseeing the development and growth of the MindFriend Directory, where individuals can discover verified, licensed mental health professionals. By making it easier for people to search, compare and connect with qualified clinicians based on their unique needs, we're helping to remove barriers to accessing trusted mental health support.

I also work closely with our collaborators and videographer, Sivan, to coordinate content production with accredited mental health professionals. Together, we create evidence-based educational content designed to make psychological concepts more accessible, challenge misinformation online, and empower people to make informed decisions about their mental wellbeing.
